My father, Herbert C. Hein, was an accomplished writer. He was born on July 10, 1917 in Walla Walla, Washington and died in an automobile accident near Valley Junction, Oregon on November 13, 2006.

For years, he was the owner of his own business, Hein Restaurant Furniture, in Seattle, Washington. His company worked with many of the foremost architects, designers and builders in the United States.  He created and installed custom-built furniture in many of the best hotels, restaurants and homes throughout the west coast, from California to Hawaii to Alaska. He was always a builder of houses, furniture, workshops and new rooms.

He also built a record of his life and times through his writings, shown below. He wrote these through a course, "Write Your Life Story", offered by Lower Columbia College Senior Studies Program where he lived in Longview, Washington.  The class encourages its members to document various events in their lives that interest them.

Here are his writings.  I'm sure you will enjoy them.
