Macintosh
I've recently purchased an iMac 20". It
is a nice computer and can do many things quickly and elegantly. I use it about 5% of
the time, mostly to understand and use the hardare and operating system. It is been
valuable in understanding various items in supporting clients who have Macs in their homes and businesses.
Through the years, we have recommended Macs to people
who are strongly right-brained; people who could never get the knack of
effectively using an IBM compatible PC. Also, we have recommended Macs to
people who were getting too much spyware and viruses on their PC's and who, on
our recommendation, had an interest in using a Macintosh. These computers
have been much freer of these problems than PC's, partly because of the
stability of the operating system and partly because of the fact that Macs are
used in
less than 5% of the computer market now.
We are confident that Macintosh's will be successful
in gaining more market share in the future. Previously, my main gripes
were the one button mouse and the condescension of many Mac users.
Microsoft was smart enough to steal all sorts of things from the Mac - the
mouse, graphical interface, Clipboard and many other items. Apple did not
take the scroll mouse or the right button for what seemed like a long time.
That has changed. Now you can put a PC style mouse on your Mac and have it
do much of what I need it to do. It is a good computer, elegantly crafted
and powerful enough to do the jobs it has to.
Hein Computing, Inc. is now getting more expertise
through installations and care of Macs and has added this to our list of
services that we provide to our clients.
